Come and retreat from the stresses and strains of daily life in this full day retreat in the beautiful market town of Knaresborough. Carve out some time to connect with yourself and an amazing community of people as we explore ways that ancient Indian and Chinese practices can be used in our busy, modern lives to create ease in the body, quietness of mind and a greater sense of peace in our lives.

Retreat programme

The retreat has been structured to gently ease you into the day and allow you to arrive in the space, ground in your body and begin the process of relaxing both body and mind. We will use powerful practices from both yoga and qigong to create greater ease, relaxation and spaciousness in the body and to release what is no longer serving us. Throughout the day we will intersperse mindfulness and meditation practices and explore ideas through stories, poetry and group sharing, as well as connecting with our bodies. Ultimately, we will seek to create an environment where our inner wisdom and intuitive heart can shine through.

The retreat will include the following key elements:

☯ Qigong for stress and tension release

☯ Stories, poetry and group sharing

☯ Nutritious vegetarian lunch and herbal teas

Who is this for?

The retreat is suitable for all abilities and everyone from experienced yogis to complete beginners are welcome. Full instruction is given for all postures and more advanced versions are available for those wanting to go deeper. The only requirement is an open mind and a curious spirit to explore how the ancient practice of yoga, meditation and qigong can support you to flourish in the modern world.
